Book Review~Healed by Love

Book #1 The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor, Book #13 The Bradens series, Love in Bloom #25

Meet the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor and fall in love with Nate Braden & Jewel Fisher in Healed by Love.

Nate Braden has loved his best friend’s younger sister Jewel for as long as he can remember, but between their age difference and his respect for Rick, he’s always kept his feelings at bay. Now he’s back in Peaceful Harbor, and Jewel is no longer sixteen years old—but there’s an even bigger obstacle standing in his way. Nate and Rick joined the military together eight years earlier. Nate came home a hero, but Rick didn’t make it out alive.

THE BRADENS AT PEACEFUL HARBOR are one of the newest additions to the Braden series and the LOVE IN BLOOM family.

I feel like just saying "Melissa Foster" should suffice for this review. I should just be able to post a picture of the cover and her name and that should be more than enough information to convince you to read it. It's really hard to review her work repeatedly because it's just good. When I pick up her books I know they're going to be good. I know I'm going to fall in love with the characters. I know they're going to be well developed and have a great back story and that their love story is going to make me sigh and smile. There really isn't much else to say. She consistently writes well.

Healed by love is, of course, no exception. Nate and Jewel each have their own issues stemming from Rick's death. She lost a brother and he lost a best friend, but there's more to it than that. I enjoyed watching them both struggle to overcome their individual issues in order to form a new relationship. I hurt with them and cheered for them. I can relate to Jewel's personality and overprotective love for her family on a lot of levels. It was so sweet, if a little misguided, but totally understandable.

Overall, I loved Healed by Love and thought is was a sweet, yet realistic love story. The characters are lovable and well developed, I enjoyed every bit of this story.
